The Fremont RE-2 School District is bursting with pride for the Florence Jr./Sr. High School Cheerleaders, who just captured their sixth straight league championship! These athletes have poured their hearts into every practice, stunt, and routine, and their dedication, teamwork, and unstoppable school spirit continue to set the standard. What an incredible achievement!
The excitement didn’t stop there. The very next day, the team dominated the Pueblo County Showcase, earning 1st place in Outstanding Technique. They kept the momentum going by traveling to the Road to State competition, finishing strong with an impressive 2nd place.
A huge thank you to the coaches for their guidance and to the families who cheer on these amazing athletes every step of the way. Congratulations to our FJSHS cheer team. You continue to make RE-2 proud!

Each week, our volunteers pack over 200 weekend food bags for children in need. At Penrose (Beaver Packs) and Fremont Elementary (Bear HUGS), this volunteer-run program provides three days of food for families who need support. Parents can enroll their child, or teachers can recommend a child for the program.
We are so blessed by the generosity of our community! Some of our recent supporters include:
Fremont Interagency Oversight Group (FIOG) – $20,800
John Vigil & Black Hills Energy – $1,300
Amrize employees – raised $11,515 through a golf tournament
Other supporters: Yankton Benedictine Sisters (St. Thomas More Hospital), Praise Community Church, Atmos Energy, Eastern Fremont County Rotary Club, Florence Farmers’ Market, Rocky Mountain Bank & Trust, and many individual donors
Each bag costs roughly $6 to pack, and we need approximately $50,000 each school year to continue the program. Every donation, big or small, helps us reach more families and children facing food insecurity.
We are beyond grateful for the community support that makes this program possible! 💛

October 20–24, 2025
This week, we’re taking time to remind everyone about the importance of keeping our students safe on and around the school bus. Let’s all do our part to support our Fremont RE-2 Bus Drivers and help keep every child safe.
Community:
🚦 Stop for flashing lights and stop arms.
🚫 Never pass a stopped school bus.
Students:
👦👧 Wait for the bus to stop completely before approaching.
🪑 Stay seated while the bus is moving.
Families:
🚗 Review bus stop safety rules with your child.
A heartfelt thank you to the Fremont RE-2 Transportation Department for your dedication to our students’ safety. Our bus drivers work hard to make sure every child gets to school and home safely each day.
Together, we can help ensure every ride to and from school is a safe one for all students.💛
