Today, Fremont RE-2 School District celebrates the individuals who help make our schools safe, supportive, and welcoming places to learn.

The Fremont RE-2 School Board Meeting, scheduled for Monday, February 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., will be held at the Fremont RE-2 Administration Building, located at 403 W. 5th Street, Florence, CO 81226. The agenda is available on the district website at www.re-2.org under the School Board section.

We were fortunate to have an outstanding variety of vendors representing many career pathways, including the Department of Wildlife, colleges and universities, ROTC, nursing programs, Paul Mitchell, Nunn Construction, Colorado Shed Company, Pueblo Fire Department, the Department of Corrections, the Army National Guard, Amrize, and many more.
Students had the opportunity to engage directly with professionals, ask questions, and learn about real-world career options. Thank you to our vendors and staff for making this event such a valuable experience for our students!

Fremont RE-2 School District proudly recognizes and thanks our school counselors for the incredible work they do every day. Our counselors support students in discovering their strengths, planning for the future, and navigating academic, career, and social-emotional growth.
We are grateful for their dedication to our students, families, staff, and community, and for the vital role they play in helping every student reach their full potential.
Thank you to our school counselors for all that you do! 🎓✨

Fremont RE-2 School District is proud to introduce Home-School Opportunities, designed to support students and families with flexible, engaging learning options, whether in-person or online.
Students in grades 7–12 can enroll in select courses, including electives, career & technical education, and hands-on classes like art, band, agriculture, welding, technology, and more. High school students may also participate in concurrent enrollment college courses.
✨ New this year: Online courses are now available for students in grades 9–12, offering even more flexibility for families who prefer or need a virtual learning option.
This program allows students to learn, explore interests, and connect with peers, all while continuing their homeschool journey with the support of our local school district.
We invite families to discover the opportunities available and find the pathway that works best for their students.

✨ “I have a dream…” remains a powerful reminder of the importance of unity, service, and opportunity for every member of our community

On Wednesday, January 7th, four 4th grade students from Penrose Elementary had the opportunity to present at the January Board of Education meeting, held right here at Penrose Elementary.
Two students from Ms. Garrett’s class confidently demonstrated different strategies for solving division problems, while two students from Mrs. Olguin’s class shared thoughtful essays about holiday traditions from countries around the world.
Principal Ms. Dickey also highlighted the launch of the 212 Recognition Program, celebrating positive student behavior and the wonderful culture being built among our students.
We are so proud of our students for their hard work, courage, and enthusiasm for learning and grateful to our amazing staff for inspiring them every day! 💙📚✨

As January is Board Appreciation Month, we would also like to take a moment to express our gratitude for the dedication and service of our Board of Education. We are honored to work alongside and be represented by such committed leaders serving the Fremont RE-2 School District.

This semester, our FJSHS students became detectives! They investigated a staged crime scene, analyzed evidence, and turned their findings into a full court case. ⚖️
Each student had a role, from expert witness to lawyer and presented their case to jurors, including Mr. Ragan’s class and Gifted & Talented students. A huge thanks to Chris Barr and friends for guiding them, and to Superintendent Dr. Wilson for serving as our Guest Judge! 👏
From lab to courtroom: hands-on learning where science, law, and collaboration meet! ⚖️🔬
